My name is Amanda Fogarty and I am a fiber artist, an elementary art teacher in Upstate New York, and owner of iola Moon Studio. I have been working with fiber in my personal artwork for over 15 years and teaching elementary students art for 17 years.

During the school year, my focus is on teaching kiddos the amazing possibilities of art and the world around them, sneaking in time on the weekends for my own artwork. Throughout the Summer months, I enjoy spending time creating woven wall hangings, needle felted pieces inspired by nature, and spinning yarn from beautiful fibers, like merino wool.

I enjoy incorporating unique and vintage fibers into my artwork, as well as crystals, beads, and vintage jewelry. My love for fiber runs deep, I grew up watching my mother create everything for us, from making our clothes to crocheting blankets. Creating beautiful things by hand and repurposing items, giving them a new life, was taught at a young age.

My goal is to create pieces interwoven, felted, or spun with love; giving warmth to your home, gifted to a loved one, or knitted into a new piece of art~ spreading my joy of creating with fibers to others.
